Child Protection

NHFGN operates several child protection facilities in communities across the world, especially in Africa, to make coordination easy.

Child protection is the safeguarding of children from violence, exploitation, abuse, and neglect. Article 19 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child provides for the protection of children in and out of the home

We have devised a way to bring community members together through child protection clubs, these are charity clubs that the organisation uses to identify children in need as well as train them in life skills. We have such facilities in Botswana, DR-Congo, Kenya, Cameroon, Tanzania, Namibia, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe and other troubled states.

Our community peacemakers work in partnership with our local offices to support these children with food, school fees, and other non-food items that meet the rights of every child.

Your support in this area will give each child a better future.

HOMES & CHILD WELFARE

NHFGN runs several children's homes across the African continent, and the purpose of these homes is to provide shelter to abandoned children. We work with community social workers to meet the needs of these children as well as provide safety for them.

Community social workers play a critical role in child welfare systems across the world by protecting the well-being of children, youths, and supporting families in need. In the fiscal year 2021, an estimated 20,000 children were found to have experienced maltreatment, with children under the age of one being the most likely to have been maltreated. Of the children and youths who were abused or neglected, an estimated 10,462 received foster care services. Furthermore, UNICEF estimates that 3,500 children under the age of 15 die and neglect, and most experts report that this number may be much higher. Ensuring that the needs of children who experience or who are at risk for maltreatment are addressed is critical as the impact of adverse childhood experiences cascades throughout their lifetime. Support our work to meet the needs of these children and your contribution will give safety to several children in the developing world.
